Tell me how the board goes. Im about to pull the trigger on it. And yea, its literally the Rampage formula with some components missing while the BIOs is watered down compared to the rampage board. I did read that somebody was able to flash the rampage BIOs on the P5E deluxe, but i wouldn't try it.

Great news. Did you flash straight away or after OS install? Some did do a fresh install of their OS after the bio flash however.

I did flash After OS install, but i will do another fresh install of OS as soon as i get board tweaked and know its limits. with all the tweaking options in the Rampage bios that could take a little while. This board is no doubt the way to go if your planning CF in the future.

Curious if this flashing to the other bios would change the memory compatibility? My RAM is validate for the P5E Deluxe, but doesn't appear on the Rampage's QVL doc.

Any ideas? Just afraid I'd have an inoperable system after the flash if the RAM is incompatible.

This is my first post in this forum... I have been watching it for a few years and it is great.
Been building PC's since 386SX (not a status thing,,just showing I'm not new to computers)

Anyone have a stable Memory running at higher than 800MHZ and specifically which brand and product so I can get some?
I don't want to return a bunch of stuff to try to find which works......Thanks

running a flashed P5E (to the Rampage Formula) with 8GB of G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000). I have it running at 5-5-5-15 @ 960. It ran fine at the next step up ( I think it was 1031?) with 4 GB.

I really dig this board, OCing is effortless, my q6600 went to 3.6 and booted to windows on the first try, e8400 went to 4.0, again, first try went to windows. I would like to see how an e8600 runs on it.

I'm getting a P5E Deluxe and what I want to know is...

What is the max FSB you guys are getting out of the board?
1) For Dual Cores
2) For Quad Cores

I just want to have an idea of what to expect.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Why not? Were you just comfortable there?

I'm sure it didn't hit a wall. I read somewhere someone was running a dual at 533x8 (don't remember which one though).

I just wanted a bit more feedback than just that 533x8 report. Thanks though.

Anyone else....

Ya? I might have to try that out. This thing has a BUNCH of BIOS settings that I have not seen before, -- guess I will have to figure out where to start.

Thanks for the effort.

I don't think I'll be getting mine until Thursday so...maybe not before Friday I get everything up and running....maybe Thursday night (I can't wait)....

My lowly E6300 will singing me praises once it passes 3.2GHz....LOL...I got it to post @ 3.4GHz before on my P965 but that was short-lived...it BSOD'd.
My highest overclock on it was 450x7 (3.15GHz).

If this board can do 500...I'll be happy with my E6300 @ 3.5GHz....until I buy a quad (soon I hope).

Thanks guys.

Looks like these Aussies didn't like it

Thankfully, of all the pages in the book not to pay attention to, the Rampage Formula chose the FSB overclocking page. And while overclocking quad cores is more difficult, the Rampage Formula still managed a very respectable 480MHz FSB max and 475MHz benchable. That?s not far off the superior FSB overclocking of the 790i chipset and is a fair effort for an X48 based board. Not only that, the Maximus Formula only managed 520MHz FSB and that was only with a dual core.

I guess I'm not in the fast lane; that seems pretty fast to me... Don't you stress you system when running a super fast FSB?

Well it seems like I'll be just fine.

My aim was 500 on a dual and 450 on a quad. I'm happy...

BTW, what was your overclocking like on the P5E Deluxe BIOS...that is...before you flashed to the Rampage Formula?
