Asus p8p67 WS Revolution + 2 x gtx 580

I have been having problems with various games that use sli causing the nvlddmkm has stopped responding / restored error. Thinking it was a driver issue I tried a clean wipe of the drivers, which didn't fix the problem. Then, being stupid, I formatted and attempted to install only chipset / sound / video drivers and the primary game that was crashing on me (dawn of war 2). I had the error within an hour.

Thinking that it might be the seating of one of the cards or a bad card between the two of them I decided to remove the second card. When I was taking it out I noticed it wasn't locked in but decided to test with one card anyway just to be sure that was the issue. Everything worked perfectly for appx 3 hrs.

So now I decided to put the other card back to see if it was just the seating and when trying to put the card in i noticed the back sits right on the marvell sata ports and when I try to push it in it just pushes against them and won't snap in. I checked to make sure there was nothing else that might've been getting in the way and there is nothing. I know I have read of many ppl with this setup and no problems so Im not really sure *** is going.

TL;DR: 2nd Graphics card hits marvell sata ports for no reason I can see causing it to not lock in, which in turn was giving nvlddmkm errors.

If anyone has any has the same setup can you let me know how the cards fit for you?

Thanks for your time,
Isai

He said two GTX580s in the first sentence... Jesus.

I've had this error before, with Tuner cards installed. When I moved them into a dedicated box, I never got that error again.

Calm down please, I want to know if they are the custom cooler types and if that is what is connecting with the SATA ports. Because even if the PCB is almost flush the cards usually do latch unless you get the fan cable caught between the PCB and SATA connector.
