I`ve OC the processor but I want to return to standard settings.

I press F5 in Bios, anything is ok but the frequency is dynamic.

I`ve tryied the jumper, to remove the bios battery and to disable the EIST,

How can I fix this ?

Stock settings for i5 and i7 CPUs is to scale up under load called turbo. When you aren't using a lot of power such as sitting on the desktop the motherboard will reduce voltage and decrease the multiplier to conserve energy and it will ramp up when you do a task that requires CPU power.

Is it good ? Are you all using it ?

Over-clocking -- either beginning with Nehalem or later -- is a different "ball-game" than it used to be.

Some forum posters may do their over-clock trials and testing with a fixed VCORE. Just as many have successfully OC'd their systems by leaving EIST, C1E etc. "Enabled." Instead, Vcore is allowed to vary by choosing "offset" mode and then selecting an offset voltage.

My board and chipset are "last year's" Z68, but I've looked at UEFI-BIOS "screen-captures" for the Z77, and I don't think there is much difference. My point with that observation is this. I myself was mystified or confused about the "base multiplier" and "turbo multiplier" setting options. I contacted ASUS (my board manufacturer) about the possibility of raising the default (non-turbo) multiplier, and I was told that they "didn't provide that feature."

So all over-clocking for these SB and IB CPUs and the Z68 and Z77 motherboards is done with respect to the "turbo" multiplier.

You CAN change the base multiplier, but you can only decrease it. You can't increase it -- unless it were a feature exclusive to the Z77 chipset and my assumptions based on my Z68 experience are incorrect.
