AT&T @home Latest status?

Man What a boring weekend without my fast internet. Was happy to get back to work so I could even check Anandtech! God At&t really blew this one, the whole scam backfired on them it appears.
Anybody have any links to any articles or information on the latest status of when we may get service again!

It appears some areas may be coming back up soon! I'll believe it when I see it.

I was back up yesterday morning but now I have a lovely 1.5Mbps d/l cap to go along with the usual 128kb u/l cap. CNET technews seemed to have updated information on Friday about what was going on.

I was back up in Dallas yesterday but am only getting 978k up/126k down. We are suppose to have 1.5MB down. I am not sure if it is worth it to complain.

So what are the network settings for the new network? Right now I am using @home for my workgroup. Does that change?

I am in Dallas. I got word they had re-established our network here in TX. I tried calling their 800 number but they kept redirecting me to CATV helpdesk. And the 800# would only accept option 3 (they gave me four options to choose) and ignored when I pushed buttons 1,2,or 4. Not to mention the web page they had setup for detailing the changes DOES NOT WORK. I wish AT&T wasn't my only broadband option, otherwise I would cancel them instantly. Let's see, they have displayed horrible customer service, did not prepare adequately for the Excite outage, and have capped our downstream rates. Oh yeah!

Granted, its DHCP and the lease cycles every 4 days, but its up. He said it was fast as hell too.

Just got the automated recording from AT$T. Wifey booted up the modem and it worked Still very unhappy customer, but as long as it works I guess I can deal.

I am not sure if it is worth it to switch to DSL. I have to change my email address and my website as it is.

Do you guys think DSL is a better option? Right now I only get 978 up/126 down. Nowhere near the 1.5MB cap, or the 3.0MB I had before the switch.

Glad to hear some of you are actually back up and running. The question is did you have to change any of your network settings ?obviously it will still be DHCP, but did you need to change workstation name or workgroup or dns servers etc ?
Or did your service just all of a sudden come back on without changing a thing in your network settings?

I'm in NW Indiana hopefully they are counting us in the Chicago market as for getting reconnected.

I still have my @home. Seems that our cable provider found a different provider. I lost my connection on Saturday for about 5 hours, and couldn't use my E-mail for about 3 hours yesturday.

P.S. I'm in Misery. Oops. I mean Missouri.

AT$T suxs, was suppose to have cable modem in 2000 then 2001 was promised. Now 2002 is one month away and still no service. Now it's capped at 1.5, no reason to get it anymore.

Thank god for DSL running at 1.5.....

Seems as though your dns addresses either changed or are not working


Try opeing up winipcfg and then release all then renew all

I am in the chicago suburbs and I am back up today. I only could check during my lunch hour, so i could not do any testing. AT least i am back up though..
