Athlon 1.4 -> XP 1700+

I'm upgrading my old sdram mobo for a DDR board and I'm considering also getting the XP 1700+ while I'm at it. Is there actually any performance increase or just the lower more stable temp. compared to the athlon (aka fireball)

If you already have a 1.4 tb I'd say wait to upgrade. Only reason to get XP would be for bragging rights and slightly better performance.

I killed my 1.4 Tbird and had to get an XP1600. Saw very little difference. I would also say to wait a while.

I have an o/ced Athlon 1.467GHz. For the last few weeks, I am fighting with myself whether should I get an 1900+ XP for the Chinese New Year. I guess this thread solved my problem.
