Athlon XP MP Disabled?

It appears I have a MP Disabled AthlonXP 1600+. At first I had trouble booting up with both in, but I put in a better PS and finally got a consistent post, but only one CPU would show up. Anywho, I tried all kinds of swapping CPU's and Sockets, and found that everything worked in 1 CPU configuration, but 2 was a no go. So I loaded the latest Bios (A7M266-D), and finally got the error one CPU was MP disabled. I'm just wondering if both are MP disabled at this point. Any database that you can type in the production number and get the info on MP capability???

Check the L5 bridges. If they are cut, MP is disabled. For more info check the forums at 2cpu.

What hitchhiker said. The XP's manufactured after February or so had a bridge cut that disables SMP. Look at the set of bridges that are labeled L5. The one closest to the center of the processor is the one they cut.
