I was debating whether to order a 3200 Winchester or 3500 Newcastle. I finally decided on the 3200 Winchester retail and ordered it from ZZF on 12-29 for $207

yeah I got kind of screwed buying my Winchester. Wish I had got it when it was 282 When I got it, it was over 300. The worse part is that its running at 0ghz as it still has to sit in the package

i thought i read something about how that was fixed, ... but honestly... what % of users are gonna be using phase change cooling? 1/100? i dont think thats significant enough to mention as a flaw in the new .9nm chips.

i keep forgetting people here are not extreme overclockers... my bad...

Yeah the crowd here is a little less extreme than those at http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com

The winchesters may have been cheaper a few weeks ago but recent observations seem to suggest that later weeks clock better. In the end, whats the difference between 20 or 50 dollars anyway.

That's where people hang out that have no qualms about RMAing sh1t they break... I admit I'm a member just to get a feel for good hardware but never try that stuff at home.

How much are the 3200+ going for now???

my 3500 runs at 2.7 on air. Cant wait for the Mach II to get back from repairs.

I got the 3500 winchester because it was readily available (I wasn't quibbling over $20) and decided the 130nm vs 90nm wasn't that important to me. In either case you still have the upgrade path. Still being very cautious on the OCing front though.

The 3500 is very snappy and I'm quite happy with it.

I am debating whether to get a 3200 winchester, 3500 newcastle, and 3500 winchester. I will not be overclocking and if I ever did it would be very little. Which one should I get. 3500 is only 200mhz faster, will I even notice 200mhz or should I just get the 3200 or the 3500 newcastle?

The price has recently inflated $60 but it's on its way down again, at least on newegg.com it dropped $6 since a few days ago.

There's even a black market for the AMD chips.

Any ideas when the OEM version of this processor will be back out in the stores? Also what about these prices damn, I should've jumped at it when it was $282 a few weeks ago.

soooo for 10 dollars more, you can get an authorized dealer... im leaning towards nowmicro when they receive stock

How do you know when nowmicro will receive stock? It doesn't seem to mention anything on their website.

Whats the typical OC that a 90nm gets compared to a 130nm ? Cause honestly, just from looking at 90nm owners sigs it doesnt seem like they oc much better than newcastles [2.6-7 avg].
I have a 3000+ newcastle at 2.5 stock everything right now and am wondering if a 90 tends to go much higher or not [say 3ghz on stock for it to be worth it to me.]

nvm ill make new thread.

What's odd is at the bottom of the page it says it's ADA3500BIBOX, but when you click on the details tab it says it's .13 micron. I wish there was a way to find out for sure. Even when you search for ADA3500BIBOX on their site, this item comes up.

haha, i already spotted this mistake.. i called them over weekend but a buyer wasnt there, so im calling again monday morning.
i will keep you all posted

I just called them and talked to a sales rep. He was totally useless and had no idea. I guess it will remain a mystery.

I called a sales rep, not as helpful as the one saturday, but he confirmed that the product they were selling was the ADA3500BIBOX, and that it was most likely a typo in the process technology field.

I asked about return policy and you have 30 days, so I think I am going to give it a shot, if its the newcastle I will send it back and talk to their buyer

Scratch that, Im ordering from futurepowerpc.

$289 with free shipping promotion right now.
Their site has accurate information, including (winchester and 90nm specs)

TigerDirect had too many ifs, and although my videocard is still backordered (damn 6800gt pci-e), id rather not have to send them back a 3500 newcastle, when i specifically requested a winchester

Happy shopping
