Ati Oem on newegg?

Does anyone know about the ATI Oem - Powered by Ati listings on newegg? Is it a thirdparty that uses ATI chips? Can anyone vouch for the quality of the parts? Will Ati drivers work with these cards?

if third party assembled the ATI factory drivers that come on a regular OFFICIAL ATI installation CD DON"T work, you will get a warning at install. been there, done that

in XP, mine was recognized automatically, then i installed a 'borrowed' hydravision proggie to get the dual displays to have the the extended desktop rather than two of the same screens.

on the Radeon VE 64 meg dual head I got, everything reads ATI, but the installation CD is looking weird compared to ATI's. no hydravision included.

i actually ordered the installation CD from ATI after telling them I got the card second hand with no CD, cost $10 shipped from Canada.

Are the quality of the 2d of these cards equal to those of the retail ATI cards? I am still lost on what these cards are and where they came from.

You should specify which ATI (OEM) cards you are inquiring about ...................... FYI (and because I want to tell the tale) .......

I first ordered an ATI Radeon LE 32MB DDR (OEM) from New Egg before Christmas ................ and received what looks to me to be a regular genuine ATI Radeon 32MB DDR retail version equipped WITH the chipset fan installed and everything on the card is identical to my Radeon retail version I purchased over a year ago!!!

Well ............... of course I promptly ordered another one, same order information: ATI Radeon LE 32MB DDR (OEM) ............. I waited a few days and received an actual ATI Radeon LE 32MB DDR (OEM) version of the card withOUT the chipset fan or even the fan header on the card ................... just the passive hs the LE normally has ................... !

Anyhow, ........... ALL of the cards I have used look just like genuine ATI retail chips and components, they all seem to be the same identical thing, ...... just minus/ or plus a few features seem to be the only difference and NO noticeable difference in performance!
