ATI Omega Drivers

Ive been using some 3rd party drivers from this website for about a week or so now and haven't noticed much difference in performance from the normal catalyst drivers. My question is have any of you guys been using or used these drivers before?
Can you recommend/not recommend any particular drivers for an ATI Radeon 8500?

I have been using them for about a week. Seem to reduce stuttering quite a bit. I LIKE!!!!!!

Same, been using them b/c the Cat 3.0's don't likey my TV tuner and DX 9. Much better, now I just need to get rid of DX 9.

I've been using omega's drivers for a long time. he optimizes them for game playability and solidity first, performance second.
and he doesn't spend time tweaking them for things like 3Dmark, so don't fret if your performance here is less than or about equal to the standard catalysts.
the difference between his drivers and the standard ones isn't really noticeable generally, because he aims to eliminate any bugs and game issues before he starts tweaking performance...at least that's how I understand his process.
also, on a side note, he's very responsive to emails, should an issue arise.

Tried them but no difference on my problem. Got any other third-party ATI driver links? Do you think they'll fix my incompatibility issue with my R9700 and motherboard?

im having some trouble with my cat 2.5s and 9500pro with my mobo.
any tips on how to switch to these OMEGA or any other 3rd party drivers ?

I usually notice very similar performance with the omega drivers, but slightly enhanced IQ and compatibility. I noticed the same results with the NVIDIA omega drivers I used when I had a GF2.

In terms of IQ, the Omega's on the nVidia Max Payne screenies give a little more clarity in some ares, but are sometimes too grainy when the blurryness of the nVidia's would suit better. There are other things where certain parts of scenes are not as good on the Omegas as the nVidia drivers.
If your playing a game, you're not going to notice the small details in terms of clarity anyway, so performance can be the best way. If Omegas offer more stability and compatibility though, then they're the best way to go.

Go to Rage 3D and find your compatible driver (OS, DX version etc.). It will auto-install like any other ATI driver. IIRC the latest Omega's (2.85) require DX 9.0. Also there are Catalyst 3.0's available but you also need DX 9. I've tried both the Cat 3's and Omega 2.85's and have found the Omega's to be more stable, but I'm still having some issues with DX 9.
