Has ATI solved any problems with VIA chipset. I have a KT400 chipset with ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, and it's causing me all kinds of problems in games. The problems range from freezes, reboots, image stuttering, resets to 8 bit 640x480 resolution, etc in games like UT 2004, KOTOR, Halo, etc.
This is what I have done:
Newest VIA chipset drivers
Flashed Newest BIOS driver
Newest ATI Catalyst Drivers (50 something...not beta...i'm doing this from the top of my head)
(and used older stable versions)
updated MS windows
Cleaned out old ATI Drivers
Updated sound card drivers
After all of these, the video card still acts funny. It only happens in games.
I've also taken the card out and put in my friend's BFG 6600 GT card and it works fine without problems. I put my 9600 Pro in my friend's computer (he had NForce 4 board), and there were no problems. ARGH.
I've googled this problem, but nothing is working. What do I do short of changing motherboards?
