ok, if you are willing to spend a long time fixing it to work in win2k, then buy the radeon. I thought it was finished, until i couldn't click on the driver details withoutlocking my system. cant install new driver without reinstalling. This box hasn't been reformatted in 6 months so i think its reformat time

So, does anyone know for sure if the Radeon LE is 64 or 128 bit DDR?

its 128bit ddr. thats what it says in the registry anyways . besides its got the same number of memory chips as the regular one. they'd only need half the amount if it was 64bit , which is the reason for making a 64bit in the first place

Save this as a batchfile substituting your path and clock speed desired:
c:\windows\pstrip.exe /clk 190 /exit
Create a shortcut to it and run it in your startup group.

Easiest way is copy into notepad and save as a *.bat. Substitute the name you want for the *.

I bought this card for my brother and just stumled across this at Reactor Critical.

According to official information from ATI, the company does not sell or support RADEON LE cards. All the questions about this card should be addressed to Althon Micro. That is why, there are no ATI logotypes on the boards and no Hyper-Z support in the drivers.

If I`m not mistaken, the accelerators are manufactured on ATI factories in China, because Althon Micro is only a distributor of ATI products, not manufacturer. The cards probably have the same manufacturing and 2D quality, so, if you want a good card with fast 3D for around $100 - RADEON LE is your choice.

Not sure what I am going to do, if anything. Just thought you guys should know!

I am running an eMachines computer, with no real cooling or anything, and I dont have the time/money/expertise to install a new fan, ect. How fast do you think I should overclock this card?

I just got this and installed powerstrip. But under the performance settings, it will let me change the memory speed, but for the engine clock it says &quot;(n/a)&quot;. Is this normal? Or do you have to use like the line

What version of PS? Use 2.78 if you aren't. 190 is a little steep also.

So....I'm guessing that Powerstrip doesn't save your settings after you reboot? If not.....that kinda stinks.....but.....at least the card IS overclockable. Any of you guys think my friend and I would need a cooling fan for overclocking the LE from 147 or 148 to 166? It doesn't seem like that would be a very big jump so I was figuring we probably wouldn't need one......but.....I wanted to get some more input.

Hm, well i just got mine and installed it. Downloaded newest drivers from rage3d for win me. Seems to work pretty well, 2d isn't bad. dvd playback is a tad funky, doesn't seem as clear as my geforce, but i'm sure thats because of something setup wrong. Do i need to use a special ati version dvd software to use its decode features? Currently i have windvd 2.3 and powerdvd 3.0. Also, using the drivers i got off rage3d, there is nothing in the registry about hiperZ... so it doesn't seem like you can control it at all. probably meaning its always on.. i hope.
