ATI stock worth getting

i have been thinking of getting ati tech stock its pritty cheap under 10 buck and the potentianl is good radeon2, gamecube and exesting radion sales.. but the company is still in the read.. and oh yah i have heard of intel thinking of buying ati ... any inputs??? or should i just stay away caz nvidia is gona take over the 3d video card market....

ummm yea that's what they said for the Radeon and it lost %50 hehe well can't blame em in this market. I only have 500 of ATI now anyway, so it's funny money. by retirement I hope to sell all my ATI stock and take a trip to my corner Mickeys and by a big mack.

I have a truck load of Nortel Cisco Alcatel, bought in rock bottom. when a $60 Billion dollar company is worth $19 somethings wrong. The communications market is still in it's infancy and will eventually turn around. Companies may hold off buying for now but can't hold back forever. when it will turn it will turn big.

I also have 84,000 share of a company I know will make it big in about 8 months. I stand to make $460,000 muahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHA. This is peanuts compared to what my wife has.

On the subject of "is it worth bying" ATI is very unpredictable. Always remember 3Dfx they were King and a cpl months later they were chumps. ATI needs to form alliences, clean up their HQ and make lot's of friends. Failure to deliver on what they promise will mean death, on the other hand, if they do deliver a bug free product on time that's cheaper than the competitors then they will live another day.

Like I said before, THIS TIME if they don't deliver in the OEM market or the Radeon 2 turns out buggy and delayed, they will die a slow death. Let's just say that I'm not going to put my life savings into it.

I have also been pondering getting ATI for awhile. I'm also in the market for some more NVidia, once they (hopefully) drop into the 60's again. ATI looks decent I think. They are not 3dfx. 3dfx never recovered from their merger with STB fully. Also, their VSA-100 chip was inferior(the need for 4 of them to compete with the GF2-ultra is is sickening). And I was such a big 3dfx fan too!

ATI's only problem is drivers. Thier supposed move to a unified driver architecture (either with the current driver or starting with the Radeon2) should help somewhat, however in the longterm they better get a better driver team to compete with NVidia. Many online sites say that certain games run great on NVidia cards because they are heavily optimized for them. Perhaps it's the other way around!

ATi looks like a good buy now. It looks like Gamecube might make a strong showing at E3, but gotta wait and see. Did you guys see that post in the news about their roadmap. Radeon2 samples in May and then Radeon3 samples in Aug or so. If that is true then they are truly overhauling their product cycle and should be able to compete with Nvidia's 6 month cycle.

nvda on the other hand is way overpriced. 40s or less is where it belongs, PE ratio is way too high. That's cuz it's already got everything good priced into it. One slipup and it won't be able to sustain that. Not saying that there will be a slipup, but just if...
Xbox looks like it's gonna be a major player.

Taking a look at what computers and notebooks come bundled with, many still come with ATi cards.
NVDA market cap is currently worth 5 times that of ATi. This tells me one of them is either overpriced or the other is underpriced.

ATI is underpriced. However, it is probably at its value because in the Video Card market, the one on the top (Nvidia) is gonna have to be toppled over to lose. ATI isn't that far behind Nvidia, but in order to take over, Nvidia would have to collapse. ATI has a lot to gain with their next cards, but if they fail, they might go the way of 3dfx.
