Old hard drive went out so got a new one, everything works fine til I try to install my video card drivers, at which point the screen becomes all pixelated and off colored, as soon as you uninstall the video card driver it goes back to normal. I remember this happening a year ago when I first built this computer but I forgot how I fixed it oddly enough. I've tried every stable and beta driver listed on http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1159&pid=1745&psn=&lid=1&leg=0# no difference between them.

What driver are you installing? form the CD that came with it? Did you goto AMD site and try downloading the latest control center and driver package?

Tried that one too same issue.

What driver are you installing? form the CD that came with it? Did you goto AMD site and try downloading the latest control center and driver package?

Tried it with the cd, as well as all drivers listed on AMD's and Sapphire's site both stable and betas.

This is what it looks without drivers

Here's what it's doing after installing drivers

It's in PCIEX16_1, same slot it's been working in for the last year, prior to the HDD change.

Do the drivers off Windows update make any difference?

After you install these drivers, does device manager report any device issues or any hardware missing a driver?

That doesn't seem like it is "pixelated" but more like the color quality is not set correct.

Make sure you completely uninstall the CCC drivers.

Download the AMD uninstall utility:
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Other-DRIVERS-TOOLS/AMD/AMD-Catalyst-Un-install-Utility-1210.shtml

That one seems to work pretty good

Now install the latest driver.

If it is still doing that, open up your Catalyst Control Center

Click on the Desktop Management tab. In that menu click on "Desktop Properties."

Once that is open you'll see settings. There should be a tab where you can set the color quality. Usually default is "High (32 bit)."

See if you can set it to that.

That isn't really a colour quality issue, more a colour mapping problem. Have you tried messing around with ICC's by any chance? Its a very strange effect and I can't see why an old AMD WHQL driver from Microsoft wouldn't do it and a new driver from AMD would unless its profile related. Its a truly odd one.

I would try emailing AMD support. They aren't very good, they are rarely helpful but maybe just maybe you'll get lucky and then will tell you what is causing it.

I get no signal to monitor with a DVI cord. Bought a new HDMI to test, problem still exist.

Tried a dozen or so different ICC options still issue remains.

No reply from AMD support.

Bought a new Raedon 260x, and having the exact same issue with it.

AMD support just gave me a copy/paste message about making sure to run their uninstaller first before updating drivers which I've done countless times.

One things I can think of - try using the other pci-express slots and see if you are having the same issue.
