Hi all, I was reading the spec. sheet for the X850XT and it listed this:
Display Features
* Dual integrated display controllers
* Dual integrated 10 bit per channel 400 MHz DACs
* Integrated 165 MHz TMDS transmitter (DVI 1.0 / HDMI compliant and HDCP ready)
* Integrated TV Output support up to 1024x768 resolution
* YPrPb component output for HDTV display connection*
* Single and dual link external TMDS transmitter support for high resolution and/or multi-monitor DVI configurations
* Compatible with ATI?s THEATER? video decode and capture devices for VIVO (Video Input / Video Output) configurations
Now, I have the X850XT card and I looked at the external TDMS transmitter chip and it is a Silicon Image SiL1162 transmitter http://www.siliconimage.com/products/product.aspx?id=5. Looking at the specs. for this, it is only capable of running up to 1600x200, but it does say 3 TDMS data channels.
I am seriously considering buying an Apple 30" HD display and was wondering if this card would drive that panel. I also noticed that the recently announced X800XT for the Mac supports dual link DVI on one of the DVI ports - this card uses a SiL178 transmitter and looks different in shape to the SiL1162.
