Attached notebook cooler

I know I can mod one, I was wondering if there is already a notebook cooler that is designed to attach to the notebook so I can tote it around from room to room or whatever? I want it to be able to detach also when needed.

This is a pretty good one. It does not fasten, but rather the laptop sits on it. If you want some "adhesion," you could use velcro patched on the 4 mounting points.

I would not want to add any weight to my laptop when in the traveling mode.. As a desktop replacement, it's pretty good. Velcro would allow you to move it around the house.

Thanks for the reply... sorry for the delayed response. I was thinking of going with the Vantec LapCool2 products. I've contemplated the velcro idea, I hope it can hold well though. Maybe that plastic velcro stuff but then it may scratch surfaces when the notebook is not on the cooler. It would be nice if more manufacturers had some form factored connections on the bottom of all notebooks but form factor + portable = yeah right.

Besides being portable, just making sure it doesn't slide around while it's on your desk or lap would be reason enough to have it right? O well, next time I buy one I'll make sure the store lets me sit with it on my lap for 30 min first.

That's easy to correct - put the hooks on the top of the cooler and the soft fuzz on the bottom of the laptop.

I have never had any problems with the laptop moving around on the desktop - and after having 5 of them since 1994, I never use them on my lap.

My new one doesn't get very hot - it is rare that the cooling fan even runs (Centrino system.)
