Milk and Banana!!! That's full of carbs. Good for building mass, but not the best for getting cut.

I have been following this post the past few days and have finally decided to post.

As far as the fats go, Omega 3's are good and Omega 6's are bad. An average person consumes something like 10-15 times more 6's than 3's. This is from all the McDonalds everyone eats. 3's come from fish, flax, and olive oil.

Methoxy pro is nothing special. Check out AST.COM for the facts on what supplements to use and how to workout. I would recomend the penta pro as previously posted, but the taste can be difficult to handle so I switch between that and Pro-Complex for my morning and evening protein. I use AST's VP2 after workouts. VP2 is better than both Nitrotech and Methoxypro. I won't go into why as you all can search the net and read labels.

Genetics is the most important factor in how big you will get, but nutrition and excercise are key. This is important to remember.

As far as a supplement plan, DON'T take anything unless you supplement protein. Protein is KEY. It is the building blocks, and without it, steroids, creatine, or whatever else you may choose to take will have minimal results. Try this for sups:
1.) Protein
Both hydrolized isolate (VP2) and a mixture of many different (Pro Complex or Penta Pro)
2.) Glutamine
3.) Creatine
I used to mix with gatorade powder as was mentioned, but AST's Creatine HSC is much better.
Get a bottle of Now's ALA 250mg capsules and make it even better!
These 3 are key. After them I would try such things as CLA and ZMA.
You should always be taking a multivitamin, supplementing your omega 3's, and after a had workout 500-1000mg of Vitamin C and 800 IU of Vitamin E will help recovery as does ZMA at night.

DPS nutrition is the best I have been able to find as far as price and reliability.
Remember to lift SMART and HEAVY with the most BASIC lifts you know.

Well, I was previous taking a protein and amino supplement shake (tasted horrible) from Metaform but recently switched to a EAS's Simply Protein (it was only $28 for 5lbs at my local GNC). I've had huge difficulties in adding mass/weight despite working out regularly (3x a week). Would a weight gainer be helpful on top of the whey?

Don't look to supplements to do what normal food should do. Eat more. Up your calorie intake 500 a day or so. No reason to give a supp company your cash when everyday food will do it. Now that that is said. Eat smart and clean calories. You can do your own weight gainer. Take your Simply Protein after your workout. Mix it in milk. Add a natural pb sandwich on whole wheat. If you buy a weight gainer, you're going to spend about $1.30 per serving. Prolab N Large II has all the protein and calories you would want after a workout. There are lots of others.

This needs to be moved out of here since it's headed way OT for these people looking for deals. You could find the answer to this and many other ??? by heading to one of the forums I've already lined up for some of you.

kudos Zivman for setting things straight on the O3 vs O6's. i too have been lurking n reading wondering when someone was gonna catch that .

as for everyone trying to "get big" its all very simple and protein powders/weight gainers etc are not magic bullets. you want to grow, take in more calories than you expend. make sure its good quality calories or it'll be fat.

work out hard on the basic lifts - squat, bench, deadlifts and chins. no curling in the squat rack!. make sure you eat enough thru the day and get your rest and you'll put on muscle. its that simple. food is key. dont get enough calories and you wont grow.

if you want more protein, drink milk. its cheap at costco or what have you. a gallon of 1% has 1400 calories or so and 144g of protein. and thats a mix of whey and caseinate. yes yes, the lactose intolerant need not apply. maybe some quik or something too coz chugging down straight milk gets real boring after a while. you can also take flax oil to supplement your caloric intake.

everything else is details. tho i must say 3g of vitamin C and 800 IU of E every day help with the soreness . and its just a good idea along with a good multivite.

get the basics right and then start worrying about the protein powders and other magic potions.

PS. DPS nutrition, supplement direct and protein factory are about the best places out there for cheap supplements. depending on what you want.

To the guy who had trouble gaining mass, how much protein, and how often and in what doses are you taking your protein? My friend is a huge muscle monster, no fat either. He lifts 5 days a week (different muscle groups each day, arms, chest, back, legs, shoulders, throw abs in with back or arms or any of them). I dunno if three times a week is any good. But it might be ok, I dunno about that.

But what IS important as well is how you take your protein. You can't just take a scoop a day. Your body can only process so much protein at one time, so you have to distribute your protein intake over ever two hours. Every two hours take about 20-30 grams of protein, by eating sandwiches, tuna, burritos, protein shakes, whatever you can get your hands on. Average male can digest about 40 grams of protein in one sitting from what I've read. My monster friend agrees with and follows this advice as well (tho i learned of it on my own web research).

The key to getting big is lifting (5 days a week), and getting lots of protein and other nutrition, and then rest. Those are the three most important factors.

GHB is a rape drug, too, if I recall my job training. I was under the impression you couldnt buy it straight-up.

<< Many bodybuilders also swear by the Optimum Nutrition brand whey, which is available for $48.95 for a 10 lb. bag from DPS Nutrition. To consolidate some of the thoughts above, Optimum, EAS, and Ultimate are three of the rare brands of wpc that don't add fillers or useless carbs. >>

I wouldn't call myself a "bodybuilder" but i do take good care of my body and work out 3-4 times a week. i too love optimun nutirtion and can't find any other replacements for it. I never knew there were this many bodybuilders in the forums!!

well i usually order from dps and lurk in at this forum-----> MuscleMag

Thanks again, buang-jim, for the tip on vitaglo.com. The EAS 5 lb. whey concentrate delivered to your door for $25.97 is a pretty amazing deal. I ordered some on the Monday after Christmas and had it on my doorstep two days later.

The EAS wpc is pretty sweet--I mean, highly sweetened. With plain whey, I would mix in a couple of packets of aspartame/sucralose, but I don't need to do this with EAS.

I also buy quite a bit from DPS Nutrition (mainly whey protein and Cytomax) and have been very impressed with their service... Quick shipping and great prices.
