audigy's firewire port is garbage!
Every audigy review that I've read has included a section about the firewire port. Each has been good. They've tested it with a variety of devices and it works well with DV cameras, hard drives, optical drives, the works. The tomshardware review that I linked to above found it to be a good port withouth any problems. It may not provide as much power as some ports but it can power a single device and, as someone stated above, most firewire devices are externally powered anyway. I would suggest that you likely haven't even used this port let alone encountered any problems with it. It's unlikely that this port has any problems given the wide array of devices that have been tested on it. It would be good if you could tell us exactly what revealed this "truth" that the audigy's firewire is garbage. It works well with a wide array of devices. How is that garbage? I have a feeling that you have a prejudice against creative in general.
