Award flash bios

:| I am trying to flash my bios on my bp6 abit board and keep getting a message that says "Divide overflow" anyone have a clue
what this means??

What version of the flasher are you using? Is it on a clean boot?

yes pure dos ver. 6.0 boot disk and ver 7.72 awardflash

Are you running himem.sys or other mem drivers? Make sure you boot without any autoexec or config.sys files. I would recommend using a win9x boot disk as there may be some OS issues using dos 6.x and the flash program. Award my not have taken into account users using real dos with the flash program.

I think Oyeve hit it on the head. I used a ME boot disk on my BP6, just copied awflash and BIN file to the disk, should work fine with that boot. MSDOS is probably loading HIMEM or something.

thanks i will do that (try win 98 boot).... i hit f5 on dos boot to bypass all config and autoexec files so that should not be the problem.

by the way what are you running on your bp6 and are you O/C ing?

Right now I have a single Cel 366@550. Runs rock solid. I tri boot between me/2k/and gentus. I love the board, but I wish i could use fc-pga, and would like 4x agp, but this board is almost 2 years old. BTW, what Bios version are you flashing to? I have the RU

my board is rev. 1.00 and has the LP id I was going to try using NJ but im sure it wont work. i tried using LP to try to get support for my ppga 533 but i get that devide overflow message

don't use a win98 startup boot floppy as it has autoexec & config.sys. suggest you go & make a bootable floppy at a win98 pc by typing FORMAT A:/S from the DOS prompt. copy the necessary flasher & updated bios files on to this floppy & flash from pure DOS!

RU is the latest ABIT approved, i would try that. I am not sure if the lp, etc. Is abit, I have only had to flash once. Maybe it is your download of the bin file? try a fresh download...
