AX-7 and rubber 'pads'

Hi all, I am putting together my new computer today (whoohoo!). Anyway, the heatsink came with four screws (to mount the fan I am
assuming) and four rubber O-rings. So my question is where do the O-rings go...

1) Between the fan and the CPU
2) Between the screw head and the fan
3) Toss 'em, spare parts

They go between the fan and heatsink and the screws go between the fins. I have had this heatsink for a month or so and like it, it is about 2C cooler than my Alpha 8045 was.

I read a review of this heatsink and the guy reviewing it said that it performed poorer with the spacers than without. Tho if you're going for a quiet computer the spacers would help reduce noise from vibration.

If it's the same review that I read, they saw a 0.5C degree decrease in temperature. A pretty meaningless difference IMNSHO.

I just got mine yesterday, and theres just fins, are you sure it's tight on there ? and that it will stay that way.

Its definitely tight because it actually goes into the fins.
