BTW, keeping a second bad one to punish them is exceedingly stupid.

If that guy won't answer your calls you simply call different people.

If you still can't get any love you dispute with a credit card, assuming that your parents let you use theirs to buy it.

Otherwise I"m not sure what you do, but you've just committed theft, and that's a bad idea. This isn't grade school, and when somebody is "dicking around" like these guys are you can't simply keep another monitor, slash their tires, toilet paper their house, etc. to get even.

Why did you buy directly from IBM? Do they not sell that monitor at any store local to you that can order it? That way when you return it you get a new one and not a refurb...

I didn't buy this monitor direct from IBM. I bought from an online store using my paypal account. I am dealing with IBM on this because IBM isn't charging me on shipping to send it back.

I have talked to dozens of people at IBM, all who say they cannot do anything about it. I finally am directed to someone who can do something. He tells me that he will give me a new monitor pre tested with no defects if I prove to him that my monitor had a defect. I take pictures and send him the proof, and he hasn't replied in a month.

And you guys are here saying I'm scamming them. I'm the one that got scammed here.

no... name, address is all they need. And Im willing to bet they have more than that on him already. (I work in a collection law firm).

What I dont get is that you bought something, decided you dont like the quality and want your money back? Do they have a money back gaurantee? What are the stipulations of the sale?

Correct. In fact, you do not technically need a SSN to pull a credit report. It helps, but the credit bureaus can pull it without it. I have done it before on Apartment leases that want to pull credit. I refused to give them my SSN. they were still able to pull the credit report, though.

all you can do is piss and moan, didn't you test the monitor out at the store for picture quality before you bought one? if not you just learned a lesson, if so you still learned a lesson (don't buy IBM monitors anymore)

lobadong: I bought it online as stated above. The stores around my area doesn't have anymore than a crappy sony E400.

well i can't help it you are a fvcking retard.

YOU did NOT buy it direct from IBM you used paypal at a different store. I would be calling that store and complain that you had a bad monitor.

IBM is being nice and by the sounds of it cross shipping a refurb monitor back to you. NOW if you bought the original monitor NEW then you should have had NO problem getting a NEW one. But somehow i doubt you bought new. It seems IBM is doing there best with a situation that sounds like a scammer trying to pull crap.

YOU trying to steal (yes stealing is what you want to do) just proves that you are still immature.

I was unaware of this. I was always educated that your credit report is tightly wound around your SSN, and without a SSN, they could do nothing. I've been told that a collection agency can have your name and address, but that isn't unique enough for them to change something on your credit report.

I'll take your word for it, though .

Yeah and calling names like fvcking retard is very mature...
What does buying new monitor have anything to do with "the place you originally baught it from is the one screwing you"?
And you obviously have no idea how RMA works. Rarely do manufacturers ever return brand new parts, they almost always return refurbs, no exceptions.
Sure I could spend $45 to ship my old monitor back to the store I bought it from, but why would I want to do that when it's CLEARLY IBM's responsibility to give me a fully functional monitor?
Yeah let's see if you'd say the same crap if you paid $700 for a monitor that works like crap, then the manufacturer does nothing to resolve the problem.
Who's being hurt here more.. a multibillion dollar company that lost a monitor that cost them around $100 to manufacture, or me, that spent $700 of my one month income to get a POS?
Clearly, I AM THE VICTIM HERE.. but I am not about to hurt myself more by getting myself into any trouble, and I have already called fedex to come pick the monitor up.
