So what are the telltale signs of a bad powersupply? My system recently decides to lock up in the middle of anything (it's an athlon system, very power concious), the video on the monitor will waver and get smaller, and then just stays there, system locked up hard core. and then it won't boot, monitor just says amber and not green, fans whir, no beep, etc. turning it off for a bit and then back on lets it run for a bit, until it locks up again.
It all started with my ibm 60gig 60GXP's. great drives! my 300 watt powersupply must have a problem. I've got a Plextor 12/10/32A, 48x creative cdrom, hard drive, ahrd drive cooler and 7 other fans, internal zip 250, floppy drive, and two ibm 60 giggers. Plus all the video, sound, modem, ethernet, USB junk on my motherboard. 300 watts not enough?? WIll the 400watter I just bought fix it?
