Cleopatra 2525 comes to mind along with Andromeda for TV shows. For movies, the recent spate of bad straight to Sci-Fi Channel films like Dragon Storm, Sabretooth, and Caved In comes to mind.
Seaquest constantly went back and forth between good shows and flat-out stupid shows. My favorite "bad" episode was the one with the prehistoric 200 foot long crocodile. Out of nowhere, Lucas (the 16 year old computer whiz kid) became this prehistoric dinosaur expert. Instead of killing the gigantic croc, they decided to save it and put it back on ice. Unfortunately, the did this by drugging it, towing it to an ice flow, then shooting torpedoes at an iceberg causing the croc to be seemingly crushed by giant chunks of ice.
speaking of crappy movies on sci-fi, what the hell is up with all the stupid natural disaster movies and the animal attack movies???? that doesn't really qualify as sci-fi in my book.
sci-fi used to be really good, now you're lucky to find anything decent on it. i miss all the old sci-fi shows they used to run.
It's because instead of developing quality original content, Sci-Fi decided to go with buying broadcast rights to Sci-Fi and borderline Sci-Fi movies that would normally go straight to video. Now all these bad film producers see a goldmine in this and are constantly producing bad movies just for this reason.
The most unintentionally funny one I saw recently was one with Coolio playing an Army Captain fighting Pterodactyls in Turkey.
It really is like watching MST3K now minus the two robots and human in the bottom corner of the screen.
no doubt! i saw commercials for that coolio movie...needless to say i never watched it.
