barton 2500+ overheating ?

i installed a athlon xp barton core 2500+ on a Gigabyte GA-7VT600-L [my first build ever]
with mother board monitor I am getting the following readings
reading one 28c goes to 32c after extensive gaming
reading two -same thing

problem reading 3 is like 75c ! what is that ? if u can tell me what that is and what is a good heatsink/fan for that part it would help greatly

also when it gets hotter than that the fans starts running weird -start running fast/slow intermittently etc

fan regular speed around 3800rpm

other info if necessary

i have one 80 mm fan in front put in backwards - i think that creates an in flow
i have a 80 mm fan on the side that puts out a good deal of air
i have a 9600 pro video card -do i need additional cooling for it -not overclocked

If your computer isn't crashing under a healthy load, then I wouldn't be too concerned. I have seen too many examples of erroneous readings on all sorts of monitoring programs. SPF Fan has my video card on fire, with burning vidcard icon. BIOS reports otherwise. Soyo's mainboard monitor reports some alarming stuff as well. My computer is a detuned less than spec under ran, lamby in wolf's clothing.

The data that gets transmitted by these programs is suspect. The programs that translate them are suspect. They are only useful in making comparisons within a single machine. If I reseated or replaced my heatsink, I could look at the before and after temperatures to see what I accomplished.


I cannot compare my readings to others. If your computer isn't crashing, it isn't crashing.

will putting a fan in the back help?
