i think it should drop back to like 80 or something....i try to get excited about baseball, but in the spring i watch a game and enjoy it. then i realize that they will still be playing in october and i loose all my interest because it is just to much. there are way to many games for me to give a crap. there is nothing special about any individual game where as with football every game matters. make it so each game matters and i would watch it much more.

yeah, I love baseball, but the length of the season is a bit tedious for me. I like how people like to argue "Every Game Matters!!!"

...well, this argument holds true in a 150 game season, a 130 game season, an 80 game season, etc...

THIS is the problem, coupled with 7 game series.
I dont mind the 162 games, but the playoffs are TOO FUCKIGN LONG. Don't get me started on the NBA playoffs.... those are the WORST.

true. But with the current size of the league, and the number of teams that actually do participate, it still seams very valid. No bad teams make the playoffs, period.

Drop 10 games off the season.

Expand the strike zone.

Enforce a time limit between pitches.


Baseball would be so much more awesome. Nobody wants to watch another Rays / Phillies World Series weather disaster.

i can't stand baseball anymore (not just because the cubs suck). the season is far to long, the playoffs are long, the umps suck and steriods killed my interest.

not to mention its to fucking slow. 4 hour games are insane. there is no reason to pitch then wait 30 seconds to pitch again.

I love baseball, but I also see that there is room for improvement.

I really think they should drop 20 games off the season and make the LDS 7 games.

Those 20 games really change the complexion of the game though. How many teams in the past few years have gone on a tear/imploded at the end of the season? It's a long season about endurance, not being hot at the right time. I also disagree with a 7 game LDS. Just doesn't seem meaningful.

I do agree with an expanded strike zone. I would also like to see more transparency with the discipline of umpires. Yes, they are human and mistakes are to be expected, but some of them were out of line this season. And I'm not talking about blown calls. With that said, I don't believe instant replay should be expanded beyond fair/foul of HRs... although maybe a general fair/foul determination in the playoffs.

I say drop the 62 games and just leave it @ 100. Of course this will never happen since it is in the best interest of owners, players and advertisers...
