BASF SUCKS!

Of all my CDs, every single of one my CDs that are BASF brand all now give me cyclic redundancy errors when I try to access them. WTF!

Back in the day BASF used to sell finished products like tapes and such. My uncle was manager at a plant in Texas. We got all kinds of free stuff from him. But I don't really see any products for sale to end users any more. Weird.

Probably cuz people figured out their products suck!

Yea, the CDs I'm trying to access are about 5 years old so I guess they were one of the earliest generations of CDRs, but nonetheless, I have other brands (ie. Verbatim or Sony, even "shark" brand) that are just as old, and still work.

BASF does not equal Emtec. Emtec probably uses some resins or olefins that BASF manufactures to make the plastic portion of the CD that houses the die layer. Emtec most likely used the cheapest die they could source.

I Have some from 1998 and they still write and read fine.
The old ones I burned music on still play in the CD player, too.
Might just be Your CD burner / player.

They make the CD-R's that you burn NOT WORK!
