Battery Backup question

Hi,

I have the battery from the following link http://www.cdpups.com/product_detail.asp?tb=1&prdid=43

Is the model b-upr 706 which has 700Va or 400 watts. I have only my xbox360 slim connected to the battery backup part, the rest of the electronics to the power surge only outlets. When there is a power spike or the power goes off the xbox turns off, the xbox has the 120w power brick. I used this battery before on my pc and has at least 3 years and is connected directly to the wall outlet, could this be that the battery is almost dead or the xbox consumes more power than the battery has?

Any help appreciated.

I think the battery is dead or dying. You can check it by plug out from the wall without anything connected to it, if it just last a few minutes when is time to replace the battery.

Hi,

The battery shut itself off in about three minutes without anything plugged in, I think you are right. I have one the same brand for my computer about 300 watts total and that battery stays on about five minutes even when the power is out. I will use the battery as a it as a surge protection until I can buy one.

Sounds like the battery is toast.

If you can, charge it fully, then disconnect from power without any load, and let it sit for a half hour, then measure the voltage and tell us what it is.

Hi,

Sorry it took so long, I coudn't find my multimeter. It didn't register any voltage, I set the multimeter at 20V, it only measured about 0.03V at most, to make sure I wasn't doing it wrong, I tested the voltage of two AA batteries and the tested ok at 1.33V and also turned on the battery and shut itself off after maybe 1 minute, I guess the battery is really dead.
