Battlefield 2 not so good

i was gonna get the game but i played it at my friend's house and got bored with it after playing 20 minutes

everybody is raving about it but personally i don't think its that great

anyone concur

I got bored with it also, I mainly bought the game for the online batteling but that got old alot faster than I thought...I really wish that the game had some single player missions, kinda like the ghost recon titles but oh well.

you need to get at least 1 other friend and communicate via teamspeak(the bf2 voip works, but is a pain that you have to push a button to talk). make a squad of your own and lock it so you won't get other people trying to talk to you and f*ck up your game. then go out and do what you want or the commander tells you. if you can work as a team the gameplay is exponentially better, to the point that if my friends are busy and not playing, i usually won't play.

nothing is deadlier than a blackhawk with the pilot as a medic or supply, 2 gunners that are either medics or supply and then 2 engineers to fix it. we have owned maps and completed games with 50+ working as a team of just 6 in a bh in little time. or get a armor convoy going, again more fun.

bf2 is definately not "rambo" style fun

Try playing the game for more than 5 mins alone and get some RL friends to play with you. You don't know what you are missing.

Playing bf2 for 20 minutes isnt going to make you want to buy the game. It took me a about a week and a half to start to appreciate the game. Its too hard at first and there were too many maps to memorize, but now its great, play it almost daily.

The single player of BF1942 was painfully boring. I've come to the conclusion that the Battlefield series is a multiplayer game first, and a single player game second.

Sorry, but I find all on-line multi-player to be BORING. I also realize that it is just me, there are millions of people that live and die for these games. I tried BF 2 for about 2 hours and got tired of killing, dieing, re-spawning... I don't have time or desire to get into a squad or join a team or whatever. Too many other things are more important. Now a good FPS... drool.
So enjoy your many hours of on-line game playing, but you will never seem me there.

Yup, I'm just glad I didn't buy it and my brother did. While it was fun at the start, we got bored of it within a week. The only fun part for me was piloting the planes, other than that....I'd take CS : S.

I just hated the fact there was no teamwork whatsoever, like in CS : S you could plan your next attack or talk with your teammates about what your are going to do next, but in BF2 it seemed everyone was off doing their own thing trying to rank up as high as they can.

Teamy gets ontop of my tank.
he spams "out of the vehicle now"
I wait 5 minutes, he still wont get off or stop spamming.
I drive off, he gets run over somehow while standing on top of the tank.
I get TKpunished.

I was one of the many folks who bought it without playing a demo first.
I was one of the few folks that felt ripped off. I just cant find much entertainment in this game. I actually liked BF1942 better. Hated BF Vietnam.

I know I'm in the minority. All my friends play it, they all think its even better than sliced bread. I guess I'm just lame.

Mostly for the dumb TK problems, is why I never jumped off the BF DC final boat. Sure it doesn't have the looks of BF2, but it plays damn well with some amazing vehicle controls...

If you play in a squad with people that are smart and you all stick and work together, communicate and follow orders, your 6 men will crush the other sides unorganized 16 men. Throw in a good commander and the round will be over before it started.

There is only no teamwork if you play with noobs. It's a far more strategic game then the simple, boring, and extremely repetitive CS:S.

I still really enjoy BF2 a few times a week. It works well on my system, and I've never had any major issues.
I pretty much stick with the city maps and when I get on a team of idiots against a team that is obviously playing well together, I simply go find another server because you're going to continue to get your azz kicked round after round.

spawn -> missiled to death by overhead jet-> wait -> spawn -> killed by helicopter camping spawn point -> wait -> spawn -> hop in turrent of helicopter that is now flying upsidedown -> wait -> spawn -> run for safety, killed by sniper -> wait -> spawn -> run for a land vehicle so i can quit dying, killed my tank -> hit esc -> click quit -> sit back in chair and sigh
