I was wondering what are the good FREE benchmarking programs out now. Also where I could find average scores. I just bought a new system and wanted to test it out.
Two you might try are everest 2.2 and PC Wizard 2007. And for testing ram---get memtest86 and cpu-z. All great freebies. But other people might want to recommend others and you should be open to other suggestions.
I decided to come back and make one more recommendation---you can find your exact motherboard using system information---and then go to the mobo makers website and download the motherboard manual which is likely to come in PDF format. That little gem will answer many questions about configuration and upgrade options.
1. 3dmark05, 3dmark 06 for gpu/cpu tests
2. SuperPi calculations for CPU clock speed tests
3. hdtune, hdtach for Hard Drive smart readings and HD benchmarking
