Benefits of Flu shot vacine.

Work gives them away for free. I haven't had one in probably 7 years and generally feel fine.


What are the pros and cons of them. I do have a long drive tomorrow but this is the day they give them for free.

Pros: you don't get the common flu strains
Cons: you get autism

No troll cons: you get stuck with a needle or do some up the nose spray, that is literally it.


The flu (actual flu, not the "I feel bad for a day" shit people think is the flu ) will knock you on your ass, but unless you're an infant, old person, or have a compromised immune system, you can survive it.

You don't get autism and I don't think they do the nasal spray any more, maybe that's just around here. If you are allergic to eggs, you might have a problem.

If you work someplace where you are in close proximity to your fellow employees, or you have kids that go to school, I would get a shot for sure. The older you get, you should think about it more. Your company probably gives the shots for free because they probably save big time on sick days from the flu.

Pro: 50-60% chance at flu immunity (they guess what will be the common strains)
Cons: Might feel a little worn down the next day or two. Lots of people think this is you getting the flu but the vaccine isn't a live virus, however it can wear you down a bit.

I never took it and had only gotten the actual flu once. But generally I think it's better to take it than not, now that I am required to take it because I have since become spleenless and more at risk with infections. I bring my kids to get stabbed too. It doesn't suck. Drawing blood at annual checkups, if you do that, now that sucks.

srsly... if they're free and convenient, there's no reason not to get it.

Actually, a good reason to get the flu shot is that you can help prevent the spread, especially to older people.
