I wanted to share my experience with all. I stewed over the BenQ FP241W for months and decided to finally buy one, even after all the controversy. I just coulnd't let one of the last VA 24" panels go away without taking the plunge.
I have one thing to say "Brilliant"!
I guess sometimes you can cause yourself "Paralysis Through Analysis".
I received the monitor and there are no dead/stuck/bright pixels. I have not had any of the blackout problems and it does not seem to operate hot.
The manufacturing date was September '07. It has 1:1 pixel mapping and the ability to enable/disable overscan in the setup menu.
I paid $600 US fom NCIX delivered. NCIX gets $40 standard shipping from Canada to the US.
Bottom line, if you can still find one (I heard BenQ will not make this monitor and longer) and the manufacturing date is September '07, I have to recommend it. I am very pleased with mine!
