Some of us prefer OSes other than Mac OS X. I think it's a fine OS, but it isn't my favorite.

Odd, my Debian screens look nothing like that and I find that OS X screenshot hideous.

And on top of it all, the UI is only a portion of the complete system. The overall system and package management in Debian is light years ahead of OS X and that's what's important. Hell I'd probably be happer with one of the free BSDs than I would with OS X.

Those shots are just nasty. No CLASS whatsoever. They are simply hacked "skins" on top of an inferior DOS like system that is nowhere near as easy to use as MacOS X. What's so great about an OS that barely is usable anyway? MacOS X just works just like it's predecessor MacOS 9.

Yea, I know what you mean, I can't belive linux is hacked up like that to pretend to have a gui. I eve heard some commercial company did that with BSD. I think they were apple or something. Its horrible I tell you. Why can't they write good GUI OS's.

Odd that you would say that since OS X is largely a GUI built on top of the Mach kernel and FreeBSD userland, just like every other unix out there. OS X is not classy, in fact I find most of the UI to be ugly and the fact that you can't even them the thing without virtually breaking into the system is really stupid.

And I use that 'barely usable' OS every day, just because you haven't taken the time to learn the system doesn't mean it's a bad one.

Not quite. Each one of those is a different Window Manager. Blackbox, After/GNU(?)step, and Gnome respectively. They're themed, but I wouldn't categorize that as a "skin."

You tell me. Every OS I use (Solaris [various versions], OpenBSD [on a number of platforms], Linux [various versions], Windows [various versions], and Mac OS X) are all quite usable.

MacOS X just works just like it's predecessor MacOS 9.

Mac OS X works nothing like MacOS 9. They're entirely different.

OpenBSD just works for me. It must be the best evar.

It provides end users with many useful network utilities via Apple's legendary ease of use and design as a result providing advanced network tools to a broader range of users, not just geeks.

Not an ugly screenshot but what's depicted IS ugly and unnecessarily complex. It's like going back to the old ages.

BTW, I didn't spend $5000 although close and it has paid for itself and my rent in less than 2 months of work. I don't find myself being elitest even the slightest bit.

Huh? You haven't shown any arguments yet. Linux has a command line, so does Mac OS X. Mac OS X is a GUI on top of Darwin, which is a command line based OS. Look it up.

If you're worried about /proc, don't. I've rarely touched it, and I use Linux daily.

Mac OS X is the best 64-bit OS there is and there's no doubt about it.

It's the best for you, not the best. "The best" is subjective, not objective.
