Just like everything in Android, you can change that. Clear the defaults for Google music, and the next time you say "okay Google play xxxxx" it'll ask you which player to use. Pick poweramp and it works fine.PowerAmp is good but google music is pretty nice. You can craft your playlist from wherever you have web access. And google music will be the app your device uses if you're speaking to it and telling it to play a song. "ok google, play _________"
PowerAmp.
power amp
poweramp hitches like crazy and can't handle multitasking in the background when the screen is off and CPU is throttled. It's poorly designed and needs a buffer rework. Even on the max CPU priority and buffer size it can't handle it.
Much prefer playerpro.
No, stock
Stop trying to defend crappy code.
There is absolutely nothing intensive about decoding mp3. A 25mhz CPU can do it.
Another vote for Poweramp.
Never had any of whatever issues soccerballtux describes with it, not even on my old DroidX back in the day. Certainly not with anything since.
I've tried just about all the other major players, keep coming back to Poweramp as it just works and sounds the best.
Sony Walkman App. Comes with their phones but I got the app off xda
True, I used to really like N7 player in the car. The interface was just so easy to call up what I wanted to hear on the fly. (Before getting a car with a better music system built-in than just my phone.)N7. However it works best on larger screens. Poweramp is kinda the default choice for android. N7 works as well IMHO, and is much prettier.
