agreed, 4200 is faster than a 8500 in just about everything

2d on the 4200 is just as good as the radeon if its by a decent AIB maker, i would imagine the other stuff would be almost the same if not just as good as well

no, video is definitely better on 8500 if you watch A LOT like i do. ATi's have always been known for sweet warm color tone, something that wont be fixed by messing with gamma or brightness. plus they are the only once to support both hardware motion compensation and iDTC in hardware for dvds

It depends on how cheap you are, no offence. I would buy the ti4200 for $20 more. It depends on how much $20 means to you. It's basically 30% more money for about 30% more performance, so it's your call really.

It's very rare to find a ti4200 card that will match the 8500's 2D image quality so beware of that. I would say the 8500's have better 2D IQ than 95% of the nVidia GF4 cards out there.

I've waited and I've found the perfect card for me. A Ti4200 for $80 brand new

Anyways its the 8X version and my mobo only supports 4x but this card will still work right? Its made by Asus and its their "superfast" model whatever thats suppose to mean...It has 3.3ns memory and I was wondering what the rated speed reading for it is...
