Best Cheap Liquor

So im in college and poor (obviously) and my friends and I are planning to get a bunch of liquor for this weekend, but we don't wanna break the bank. Recently we had Crown Russe (~$13/handle), which straight sucks so we are looking for recommendations for something better that is still reasonably priced.

I guess vodka would be the best option but I am not experienced in the liquorz, so any ideas or recommendations are good for me to look into. Thanks.

I guess telling ya to "forget the liquor .. cuz if you're too poor to afford the good stuff, it's not worth doing" ... is a lost cause, huh?

I'd rather have no liquor than shitty liquor.

If i had $5 to spend.. i'd rather save it for a day when i had enough to buy the good stuff, than feel like i wasted $5 on shitty piss tasting liquor.

Vodka is a horrible option unless you plan to mix. If you want to mix then sure, get the second cheapest stuff there. But if you want to drink it straight, then no, you will not want cheap vodka.

Remember, life is too short to drink cheap booze, and getting smashed just for the sake of it is silly. If you and your friends are drinking, and drunkness happens... then so be it, but don't set out to get shitfaced, that is just asking for trouble.

Umm life is too short to not get shitfaced. Getting drunk with friends is awesome as hell.

I recommend an American Lager. It is affordable and if you drink it at a reasonable pace you will get a nice buzz without poisoning yourself.

Stoli's vodka is best bang for buck imo. You can usually find a handle on sale for ~$25.

That looks interesting I might like to try that. And I do like beers (american lager) and have those much more often, so I was kind of looking for something a little different I guess. Those colt 45's and like high gravity stuff do get the job done, but taste like shit. I would almost rather just take shots than that.

And with regards to the principle of drinking cheap liquor-Thats really not my concern at this point in my life I guess. Down the road when I've tried it all, who knows but right now I'm just experimenting and trying to find what I like, So I don't feel like any new purchase is a waste of money really.

The problem tho, is cheap crap can give ya a bad impression

Ex:
I want to buy a car.. never driven a car before, so i'm trying to find what i like.
I buy a $100 car.. it sucks.. and pisses me off so bad, that i never drive a car again.
Would i have had the same experience with a $20,000 car? No.

So.. if you never drank Whiskey... and buy a $5 bottle of whiskey, and you hate it... you might never try the GOOD stuff.

or it could help him appreciate the better types of alcohol when he has the shitty stuff now

I hope that's how it is. Like drinking Natty light then, having a Bud light tastes so refreshing to me. Idk though. I just feel like even if it takes like shit, I wont be afraid to try another type of the same drink later. I'm perfectly willing to try any vodka now even after drinking shit like crown russe and vladdy

Smirnoff seriously....

or Kirkland Vodka (even better).

I know you guys are cheap, but don't settle for plastic bottles and $5 handles. Go for mid grade. Skyy, Smirnoff, etc. Kirkland's a little more, but it's Grey Goose quality. Stoli can be found on sale a lot of times too, and is up there. If you really have to go cheap, you can Brita filter vodka.

DO NOT get the total crap stuff like keystone light beer either... You might as well go shoot yourself.

By the logic of don't bother unless you go for the good stuff, people shouldn't bother driving cars unless they can get a Porsche or BMW.

Plenty of alcohol is good enough, especially for college kids just looking to have some fun. Not to mention alcohol is at least 50% marketing, so price and label doesn't necessarily tell you anything. Be open to trying anything and find what suits you. That being said, it is nice to splurge for the good stuff now and again.

As for the original topic, just try a different brand every time. With vodka, if its not especially good you can just cover it up with the mix, while a better one will just be better all around. My only vodka rule is to stay away from anything in a plastic bottle. A bottle of solid whiskey is a good idea as well (we usually just copped out and got Jack, but I have no doubt you can find some good cheaper brands).

I wasn't especially fond of Skyy myself, but yeah, good advice. The best way to get your money's worth is to figure out which liquor stores offer the best prices for the stuff you want. Its not uncommon for there to be a $10 difference on a $20-30 bottle of something between stores here (for instance, one store is always at least $5 cheaper on Jack than the others even when they run sales). Most of the places don't even compete on price, they just offer different sales at different times.

oh cmon, everyone has to have keystone or pbr at least once. then youll learn that paying a couple more bucks for a coors or bud light 30 pack is actually worth it.

Everyone here is an alcohol/beer snob and raise their nose to people who prefer the cheap stuff.

We get a few USA imports here. No one drinks it because it's weak disgusting shit that tastes like used dishwater.

Fuck it, I knew from the other thread you're a dick and you've proven me right again.

What imaginary land do you live in where someone drinks cheap piss and never drinks again because it tastes awful? Everyone I know was bought up on cheap stuff when they were adolescent. Most of them still drink today, and most of them drink more expensive liquor as they can afford it.

yea.. and because you and your friends are satisfied with cheap piss water, means that everyone else is. what imaginary land do you live in that everyone tries everything and likes it.

people have acquired taste.

you've never drank an alcohol that you didnt like?
you like EVERY alcoholic drink you've ever tried?
know what.. you're an alcoholic.

Woah dude, l2comprehend. When I was adolescent I drank cheap piss along with all my mates, because we couldn't afford anything else. I'm now a working professional and drink just whatever the fuck I want. Having been bought up on cheap liquor didn't lead to my abstaining for life. Get it? Is that clear enough, or should I use smaller words.

God you're a fuckwit.
