Best Duron for overclocking?

A friend of mine is throwing together a cheap system for gaming...I was thinking Duron 800 and FIC AZ11 with some PC133 so he can get 1040MHz, what do you think? I would like to know which Duron's overclock good and which don't. Thanks alot!

i think duron 700 and 750 will do the same speed as 800 but with less money

but i am happy with my 800

From what I've seen so far they all overclock to roughly the same range which is 1gig or so. Keeping that in mind it would seem that getting the 700 or the 800 is best

If you plan to go FIC motherboard, make sure you get the AZ11E. The original AZ11 does not include multiplier adjustment.

Best would be the newer KT133a motherboards.

I have a 600mhz @ 1050mhz. With barely any voltage increase. I beleive it is just luck and cooling, not positive though.

My 600 Duron gets flaky past 900MHz.

It's the luck of the draw.

I had a 700 that only did 900 no matter what voltage,theni got a 650 that posts at 1ghz but runs at 950 no prob.

Get the cheapest you can find.

my Duron 600 runs absolutely stable with win2k @1060 and can POST at 1,160 ; )

Howdy, I am really new when it comes to AMD and OC. Just put my 1st machine together this weekend. However, since she seems to be running fine I intend to start tweaking soon. (haven't unlocked the L1 yet). I've got the 8kta3 and a 650-D on it. The chip only cost $46 at bzboyz.com Then I saw the OverClocking article on anandteck's home page. I think its called "Athlon Overclocking Guide". Great info-- seems that the 750 is better because the multiplier starts at 7.5
