I bought a 31.3 cfm young lin tech fan and a 48.5 ys tech fan with my svc alpha. Which fan would be best to use. I noticed that both hace rather low rpm's on the fan (~3000-3500), but move a lot of air. I just don't want to put everything together, and have to switch fans. Thanks

If you don't mind the noise, go with the ys tech fan. Otherwise the young lin tech fan would be better =)

My other question was do most fans for HS like the alpha only come with 4 pin connectors? I'm used to the 3 pin connectors that come with standard fans.

yes most the new fans come with a 4 pin they draw to much power to hook to the main board even the ones that come with the 3 pin you should get a 3 pin to 4 and run off the power supply, The nice ones come with a 4 and a 3 to monitor the rpm's and for the boards that won't run without a fan in the mainboard cpu header

the ystech would cool better cuz of the higher airflow, but since i like a quiet computer, i'd prefer the young lin. but it also depends on how fast your xp chip is and if it's overclocked. if it's a cool running chip, the young lin would be the way to go. if it's running at a high speed (1.5/1.6+), go with the ys tech.

I got the 48.5 ys tech w/ my svc alpha going right now on my 1700+. I get around 38C with that. When upping the FSB to 143 ( to effectively make it a 1900+ ) Temps go up barely, if at all. (meaning like 39-40C)

I don't mind the noise. I like the hum...lets me sleep good.

I am looking for a quiet fan to replace my screaming Delta on my SK6. Which fans are you referring to (specifically) that have these dual headers?
