I wouldn't be so quick to jump on the Grado wagon. What kind of music do you listen to? what source are you going to be plugging these into? are you going to be going portable with these? and what about sound leakage, is that a problem?

The grado's really good for rock music, they aren't the best to use for portable and they don't sound their best if your going to be running them off a soundcard or portable player.. they also leak quite a bit of sound.

I have a pair of sr80's myself, I run them from a turtle beach santa cruz soundcard, they are great headphones, but they souind a lot better plugged into my receiver. If you were going to get Grado's and run them from a soundcard, you might want to consider the sr60s instead.

you can get the SR-80s for 85 shipped from that link in my first post

O and someone stated that they leak sound. Well yes cause they are open NOT closed headphones. Its expected

and i wouldn?t recommend them for a portable player cause yull need an amp for that. get the SR-60s if you are gonna use them alot for that. I run them off the Headphone jack on my promedia 2.1s that are running off my SB Audigy (soon to be a M audio Revolution ). they sound amazing. just as good as they do off of my receiver. Also changing the sound output to "headphone" in audio HQ helps also.

I use them for everything from listening to music, comedy, gamming, vids, anything. they just plain RULE. If you want something for your home audio sys. get the Grado SR-225's i guarantee you have NEVER heard sound that beautiful before evAr

Sennheiser HD500's.

They're open, binaural, with a VERY neutral soundscape, so you can equalize the audio to your liking very easily. $80 retail. I've owned high-end Sonys in the past, and these take the cake. Best headphones under $150, period.

i have a question for you guys:
are there any headphones that two people can use at the same time? Lets say you have a laptop and two people want to watch a movie at the same time... are there any brands that make dual headsets that could plug into one outlet?

i was looking at the Style 1003.

i have the 1001s... they're good, but a little tight & hot after an hour (i have a 7 1/2 hat size, though)

I listen to rock and some classical (I know, odd combination), mostly. They're usually going to be plugged into my laptop. Sound leakage would be nice if it was kept down, but it's not a big problem.
