My personal favorites were the Mirage and Caesars. Both are on the more expensive end of the scale (on par pricewise with other upscale on-Strip hotels like Mandalay and Paris), although neither are as expensive as the Bellagio or Venetian. You can actually get some pretty good deals at the Mirage on room rates depending upon when you're going. Both had good locations near the middle of the Strip with Caesars right in the heart of things. Since we were walking it we didn't want to be way out on the end like MGM/Mandalay/Luxor is.

We stayed at the Bellagio for a couple nights too just to do it and had a great time. Everything was very nice as you'd expect. But we actually preferred the more casual atmosphere of the Mirage and Caesars more.

Depends on how you define "best". For me, the price to value ratio is a huge factor. I could care less about some 2k/nite Bellagio suite because I'll never be staying (or at least paying) in one. There are some great deals on priceline with Venetian, that's a good deal there.

That's pretty much why I included the link I had in my previous post. One given hotel may have better attractions over another whether it's the sights, food, shopping, etc.

Or, if you're a little pickier about your food, you can eat out of one of the numerous dumpsters outside of the Bellagio and Rio

Circus Circus buffet is gross, and they have like three entrees. lol

Avoid the Rio hotel, it's full of bratty kids and it's not directly on the strip. I've stayed in many hotels right on the strip and my favorite is Mandalay Bay.

treasure island no longer exists. Now the TI more adult oriented, less geared family/kids

Whatever you do, don't stay at the Palms... it's got a great club and bars which you should definitely check out one night, but don't get a room there

Stayed at the Rio a couple of months ago...didn't see many kids at all....great place IMO. Good seafood buffet too. Free shuttle ever 15 minutes to Harrahs on the strip so no biggie there....
