I go for plain keyboards (non-ergonomic). I just got a couple of Logitechs this past week.
The 104 Deluxe (from the FS/T forum). Nice solid feel, easy to work with.
The second Logitech I got is the Cordless iTouch. Sure it requires a couple of AA batteries.
But this keyboard is Cool As Can Be! I haven't had time to play with all the options yet. But so far I'm impressed!
I don't know what the range is. But I've had it working fine 8'-10' away from the receiver unit. And YES, I did get it from Just Deals. I know their Reseller Rating is crap. But I've ordered from them several times before and haven't had a single problem.

logitech cordless freedom pro is nice,
but for your price range, the dell quietkeys, ms internet, and logitech internet keyboards are all pretty similar to me, and i like all 3 of those

My vote goes to the MS Internet Keyboard, switched from a Keytronic Deluxe 104 (3601) awile back & was pleasantly surprissed by the feel of this KB, second vote would be the 3601 then ANY old tank 101 KB. I've tried alot in between, don't like the feel or response of the Logitech KB's.

iluvdeal: Thanks for that link.

I like my Dell Quietkey, but anything that has large keys and doesnt feel 'mushy' when you type is fine by me!

I like the old IBM keyboard that makes the loud clicking noise. It's not the clicking sound, but the feeling of the key actually being pressed and the feedback (sound and change in spring tension) that made me feel like typing more on it.

Too bad I haven't come across anything like that.

Any suggestions?

Another vote for the MS Internet Keyboard. Plus, if you don't want/need the hot keys you can disable them. However, I wish you could reassign them to anything.

I like the feel and the size of the keys. The IBM's feel good too, but something about the board seems smaller. Maybe it's the square shape of everything, but it just seems more cramped.

I´m typing this on my new IBM Preferred keyboard. Black, really quiet
and with 2 USB slots. Smaller then most standard boards but features 2 extra buttons for webbrowsing that actually work cause they are hardwired and not those logitech kind extra buttons that need bloatware running in the autostart to work.

I liked my previous Silicon Graphics one, (from an old SGI machine)
but this keyboard would wake up every neighbor in a 5 mile radius.

The Siemens i had last year is really good. Keys are very low profile(like on a notebook) and good response time.

You can check out the IBM if you do a search for Preferred 106 button USB Keyboard.

I like my Dell Quietkey as well. My 's' key is slowly dying though. I would love it if this keyboard had a wireless version. All the wireless keyboards seem to be curvy and have multimedia/internet buttons which I don't care much for, making them huge.

The (dell quietkey) size is perfect since I can have a book on the desk and still use the keyboard. The newer keyboards seem to be too big. The logitech freedom keyboard seems nice and a decent size, BUT it doesn't have indicators for caps/num/scroll lock. Yes, I'm picky.

logitech navigator keyboards are good. i'd have one but i spilled coffee on my logitech and didn't let the insides dry it died. only have the semi cruddy microsoft net pro combo cuz i got it for almost nothing through amazon and rebate/ebaying mouse. the multimedia/extra function keys on the ms all look the same..makes them less useful. wish i still had a logitech

I prefer quiet low profile keyboards myself. The new Dell Quietkey is nice (the old ones were horrible) and I also like the IBM preferred a lot.
