My Logitech Cordless Natural Desktop Pro is about the best I have ever used personally. It comes as a combo with a ball mouse ( Well came with a ball mouse I think the newer version uses like the MX1000 or something similar ). But I have a friend who has the new Saitek keyboard (One of them, they all type the same but different features) and he swears its the best thing since sliced bread. Now this is a die hard split keyboard guy (Split as in ergonomic) going back to a standard keyboard and he loves it.

But then again I have heard Logitechs new keyboard has the same feel as the Saiteks but more features.

Personally considering the cost and features of the Logitech G15 above and Saiteks high end I would have to give the edge to Logitech, this is if it feels like the reviews have claimed it does. The custom features and LCD for a similar price is pretty sweet. And I am not talking aobut list price, talking about what items can be found for.

Now all that said, I am just repeating what I have heard on all but the Cordless Pro I mentioned above. Oh and speaking of that Cordless Pro, I spend several hours 4-6 many days, some days 2-3 and I have not replaced batteries in four months.

It's Datadesk now not Darwin, and I haven't found them fragile so far - the oldest ones we have here at work are three years old and still going strong.

Logitech Ultra X

I'm a big fan of laptop style keys. I can type really fast on this keyboard. No regrets and I once found it for $18.00 shipped from Newegg.

I have been looking for laptop style keys keyboard. How is it compared to real laptop keyboard? I type a lot at home and I want my keyboard to be quiet.

IBM Model M-13, the one with the trackpoint. Although I find that I don't use it as much as I used to, because it seems to have a re-calibration issue, I think because the NT keyboard driver resets the 8042 often for some reason to re-sync the mouse datastream, but it also triggers a re-calibration of the trackpoint, and if you've been holding it in one direction for a while (scrolling), when you let it go, it starts to fly in the opposite direction. But the clicky keys do rock. I prefer the model in black.

That function isn't implemented in the keyboard, it's the mainboard that lets you do this or doesn't.
Just like with a PS2 keyboard, the mainboard must keep the port powered.

Not sure what revived the thread, but just saw this.

DANG. You are so right, red lights are better than blue. Now I need to get a good one....
