Best modern 4x strategy game

I love WiC but it's main limitation is it really not enjoyable without other real people to play with. The bots just don't cut it.

I thought the campaign for world in conflict was awesome.

I dunno how the skirmish is. In fact I cant recall seeing a skirmish mode.

The campaign was awesome. But if you never played it multiplayer, you're seriously missing out.

I think Wargame and World in Conflict are among the top in my opinion. I haven't seen anything that came out that could really rival either of those for real time strategy.

...and it also has nothing to do with "4x" subgenre.
