I cant even figure out why people would make such a comparison.
Also, Titan Quest is exactly like Diablo 2 in every way except its far superior.
Only nostalgic fanboys would say Diablo 2 is better.
I am not nostalgic. I am a GenX kid. I have no issue remembering bad things in my life. And I dont pretend things were better back in the good old days.
The only reason I like Baldurs Gate 2 and Deus Ex more than some current games is because they are better. If someone ever makes better games I will love them.
Incidentally, it looks like Dragon Age and Deus Ex 3 have potential.
Titan Quest is better.
Deal with it.
As for the OP's issue:
Oblivion and Fallout 3 are nice while you can get into them, but many folks get bored after a while and rush through the main quest. Once you do that there is no purpose to finishing all the dinky little side quests.
Mass Effect is good for just the main quests. The side quests are incredibly repetative and boring. Also, there is no point in playing it more than once. The character classes are not so different from each other that it makes the game more interesting. At least with KOTOR 1 and 2 it was fun to play once each as light side and dark side.
Close minded aren't you, or you just don't understand the concept of opinions and personal preferences?
First, you tell us: «
Only nostalgic fanboys would say Diablo 2 is better.»
Then you go on and say: «
The only reason I like Baldurs Gate 2 and Deus Ex more than some current games is because they are better.»
Right, so other players around are fanboys and nostalgic if they think D2 is better, but you, monsieur the almighty "
I have the right to be right all the time" can possibly think BG2 and DE2 are better, but that doesn't make
you nostalgic and/or fanboy. That's your opinion, and you're completely entitled to it, but you're not different than the other players around, and those persons also have their personal preferences. If they prefer D2 over Titan Quest it's not because they're nostalgic or fanboys, or even both, but because for them it's better, that's it, deal with it.
I for one prefer D2 over TQ, and I even prefer Sacred 2 over TQ, not only because it's better, but because TQ's developers, namely Iron Lore couldn't get the founding necessary for their next project and they closed their doors after working on Soulstorm, and while it ain't the developers' fault, it made the community realize how horribly buggy the damn thing was and in urgent need of patches, which the community had to work on to resolve the unresolved issues, and not everyone is even aware that a community patch exists at all, and I wouldn't like to be in their shoes, because I've experienced the game without that patch and it's a mess.
At least D2 still gets support from Blizzard, and Sacred 2's developers are still there to provide patches and perhaps more content, Titan Quest is dead outside of the community, and that community isn't including each and every single TQ players obviously, making it a "still alive" product for only that group of players and no one else, the rest think it's definitely dead and a buggy mess and chances are that they're having fun with other games. If not, that's their choice, good for them, I won't be the one trying to stop them from playing it, but I'll be the one coming here and trying to make people like you understand that in the end we all have opinions, and to humbly ask you to please not only deal with that but to respect that.
