Is the Sony CPD-G400 19" Trinitron Monitor the best 19" monitor I can get, it's around 470.00, and I was wondering if I could get something comperable or even better for less. Thanks.

sony monitors are probably the best around
im not sure about that particular model, but if you go sony, you should be happy no matter what you get (except for maybe the vaio )

The Samsung 900NF, the iiyama Vision Master Pro 451, and the NEC FP955 are all better than the CPD-G400 in my opinion.

It doesn't matter which one you get as long as you get a good one. Between QC problems and shipping damage, it's a total crapshoot. I'm rolling the dice right now with the Nokia FD Trinitron from Dell. I'm do for a break, so wish me luck.

Just grab the best deal that you can on the technology that you're after (FD Trinitron/Diamondtron) and hope for the best. I would be shopping for refresh rates and customer service instead of preoccupying myself with which is the best..

The Compaq P900 is being sold for 285 bucks now. It's over at www.cdw.com.

It's very similar to the P991 IMO.
