best mouse for gaming

I'm looking for a mouse that is accurate and has good range. I've found many mixed reviews among the ones I have been looking at.

From your experience what mouse would do you like the most related to this topic.

What mouse are you currently using? which ones have you used?

Not many mice are designed specifically with a claw grip in mind, I would thus tend to recommend the Razer Lachesis.

The older 4000DPI model is currently being replaced by an updated 5600DPI version, so its easy to find the old model for less although both easily fit your budget.

I'm sure there are other brands/models out there that could work but the Lachesis is the only one I know of that was specifically designed to cater to the stereotypical claw grip.

I've had it for about 3 years and have been fine with it (however I don't know what I'm missing), I can't wait to get ride of it now because its degrading in accuracy and it randomly double clicks when I single click.

That's not a gaming mouse. You will be disappointed. If you want to go Logitech, should have looked at the G9x, G9, G700 or G500.

My vote is for the G9/G9X. It's really hard to answer this question for someone else as the "feel" of the mouse really comes down to personal preference. If you can, get to a store and see how the different mice feel to you. If you're not comfortable holding it, you're not going to be very accurate with it no matter what the specs are.

I have been using the MX518 for over 5 years & it is always my go to mouse. I really see no point in any higher dpi.

like many probably posted for what he thought he should need rather than what he really wanted.

It's like most looking for perfect color reproduction on their LCD's, most have no clue on what that really means.

True, but he did ask for a gaming mouse, not a mouse that would work on clear glass without a pad.

Just kind of funny that he comes in here asking for advice only to ignore it and go off and buy a mouse that is likely terrible for gaming and doesn't even match his grip style.

But as long as he's happy with it. Although I can't really ever agree with vanity over functionality.

I'm using a razer mamba. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Probably. I jumped from an old Razer Death Adder (it was double clicking too much) and I loved it. I didnt think I'd use the wireless, but it really is lag free and once you get used to wireless, its hard to go back.

I use a slightly modified claw-grip (I have a bit of palm as well) and it works perfectly for my needs. I'm an avid Company of Heroes player and I've never blamed my mouse for any of my defeats.
