Best P4 HSF?

I'm trying to pick an HSF for my new P4. I'm going to be using a ~30 cfm Antec LED fan so it has to be an 80 mm heatsink. I was looking at the Swiftech 462+, MCX 4000, and the Alpha 8942. Anyone have any of these or know which one would be the best for my needs? Also I couldn't figure out whether or not you the swiftechs use the four mounting holes like the Alpha. Thanks for any help.

Do you care about the price?

If you want a lower price heatsink then go with the Alpha.
If you don't care about the price, then defintely go with the Swiftech.
Thing is though, both heatsinks are only about 1-2C apart.

Thanks for the tip. Yeah I'm still deciding how much I care about the price... I'm leaning towards the swiftech though.

If you want a good price/performance ratio heatsink, try the AX-478. My p4 2.4B is running at 31C idle and 45C under load, but that is with a 32cfm fan running at 7 volts! If price is no concern then go with the swifty.

Swiftech all the way. Swiftech HS are the best quality and performance. Sure they are a little more expensive, but it is well worth it for the high level of performance and craftmanship.

So swiftech is the way to go not considering cost? Where is the best (respectable) place to buy it from?

I have an alpha 8942 on my 1.6 OCed to 2.6 I get 42 C idle when the room temp is 22 C and load is 55C as read from my mobo. I have a 32cfm fan on it.

The motherboard reads the wrong cpu temp though. Its about 10 to 15 C too high.

I would get the Swiftech MCX4000 from Newegg, a trustworthy vendor. It doesn't come with a fan so you will need to pick one. If you have a case window I highly recommend getting an Antec LED fan as it looks really neat. That is also assuming you want a very quiet fan that pushes a moderate 35cfm of air. Of course you could always go get a Tornado fan.

I've seen that hs before, do you have a linky to a review or anything? I'd like to see how well it out-performs the Alpha or Swiftech...

do they make this for the P4 though?
I love CoolerMaster coolers, but I don't think the S462 version will fit, will it?

That's a nice cooler. I have an HHC-001 atop my Athlon right now.. fantastic cooler.
I might get one of these for my P4!
