Does anyone know of any good online stores to buy motherboards from?

I shop at newegg for everything, but they don't have a board I'm looking to get, and I'm sick of all the horrible online stores that sell motherboards, anyone here know any great places they have ordered from?

Thanks

ditto what was said above

most people around here buy from newegg.com... the prices are good(but not the very best) but there service and return policy makes it a good/cheap/safe place to buy pc hardware

Dashk,

I've shopped at Multiwave and been pleased. I had to return a motherboard once. Since nothing was wrong with the board, I had to pay a restocking fee. This summer, I had to return my DVD drive because it was defective. They have the same policy as newegg when returning items. You just pay the shipping on the product you are returning and they send you the new one when they receive the old one.

I have purchased three items from Mwave, and I would order from them again without hesitation. Good company. My first choice would be Newegg also. My two cents.

I used mwave until I discovered newegg. Prices were similiar but I have a dislike for their website navigation. I had to return a shipment one time (around $1500) because they had neglected to tape the bottom of the box and it opened up as they were delivering it. No problem with returning it but I lost 3 weeks of build time until it was resolved.

eh, so what motherboard are you looking for anyways? They don't have it at newegg?.. How about a local computershow.

I've ordered many times from Mwave (although not for the past 1.5 years) and have never had any problems. I also had 2 friends buy systems from them (back when I was stationed in Japan) and everything was smooth.

I like AccessMicro.com. Recently bought 3 K8HA+ mobos with Durons and fans. No problems.

Newegg, Mwave, or Axiontech are good places to order from. You might have to haggle with Newegg on shipping if you're ordering more than one item; they seem to add shipping charges based on a flat rate per item. Example:
Motherboard - shipping for it was $6. Added a single tube of Arctic Silver III (maybe 5 grams total weight max) and the shipping went up to $12.

An added benefit to shopping at mwave is that you can pick up your orders at Will Call if you live in the area. Order your parts online, jump in the car, drive over, pick up parts with no shipping charge.

At Mwave you can also RMA them in person. Phone ahead for and RMA number, drive over there and exchange your defective product for a new one. No waiting for shipping/processing time. How cool!

What motherboard are you looking for?
A good place for products (they get things fast - and ship very fast) but not necessarily great for return rights is www.outpost.com
This place was just purchased by West Coast retailer Fry's Electronics
(anyone that is familiar with Fry's knows how liberal their return policy on motherboards/CPUs and memory is ... maybe we will see that at their new site?)

I'm East Coast, so I'm not sure about "close to you" stores. I have ordered from and been very pleased with service, prices, etc from Newegg, McGlen.com, AxionTech, TCWO (Thompson Computer Warehouse Online.com) and Nexthardware.com, although the hard drive I bought from NextHardware had to be RMA'd through the freaking factory as my 30 day warranty expired before I attempted to install the DOA drive.

I think lots of people wish we had a place like Newegg back East. Paying shipping on something like a case from California to Tennessee costs nearly as much as the product! Any places like Newegg around Tennessee that anyone knows of?

You could just go to Pricewatch.com and search by chipset or Manufacturer, then go someplace like Ebizrate and see if the Vendor has a good delivery time, rating, etc. By using this method I have a list in my Favorites folder that are bookmarked like "Cheap Software", "Motherboard Vendors", etc.

Also, left off Adamant Computers. They sold me a good Combo that's still singing. They are NOT the "cheapest", but they do great work and I paid a little extra for the "security" that time.

Good Luck

I'm still surprised by the service/quality/pricing from www.frysoutpost.com
I quess I am too much of a "west coast" guy ...
But Fry's has got it figured out.
Check their ONLINE site www.outpost.com for the latest deals

Duron 950 MHz Retail Boxed CPU and ECS K7S5A motherboard at $89.95 ...
what's the best price for that combo at Pricewatch ... $93?

Check it out!
Especially their "ad" items
Anyone that knows Fry's Electronics knows they CAN NOT BE BEAT

I've had luck with Monarch Computer. One nice touch, or drawback depending on how you view it, is that if you purchase a mobo/chip/fan combo from them, they'll put it together for free (including artic silver, the whole nine yards...). Customer support is good, too. My 2¢.
