Best place to buy Watches?

May you people please recommend the best online stores to purchase name brand watches? I'm looking for a Seiko or Nautica. I cannot tell which stores are safe to buy or trustworthy. Please help, thanks!

Chronograph is my favorite place for Seikos - their prices are the best, and they have a selection of several cool watches, like my SKX779, that are unavailable in the United States. Skywatches is also good, in spite of their irritating MIDI music. Don't be deterred by the fact that these stores are in Singapore - I have purchased from Chronograph and they are a first-class operation in every way. I received my watch, using standard shipping, in about six days, and it was packed beautifully. Chronograph's prices are far lower than the lowest prices available from a store in the US.

Why buy new?

I just bought a Elgin wind up pocket watch this morning at a local flea market for $30. I liked it, it ran, looked good, so I bought it. Felt good and sturdy. I love pocket watches for some reason, dunno why.

I get back home, and check the internet on this watch. Serial number 7022698. Turns out it was manufactured circa 1897. There was only 5000 produced in the series, manufactured from 1886 to 1898. In the year this was manufactured, I have one of 117 watches produced. The case is silver, 7 jewel movement, size 18s grade 73, and was intended for mainly general use and railroad use.

What is it worth? Dunno exactly, but it looks to be well over $250+ from what I can find. You buy a new watch, and 10 years later you throw it away.

If you're looking to buy online it's not that much cheaper but I'd recommend Ashford.com and if you want to buy locally try your big department stores which have an established reputation.

I have had excellent experiences with my with Fossil Watches and they are reasonably priced. Instead of a local department store, we have a Fossil watch store and there are thousands of watches to choose from, really anything you could want, they have.

Highly reccommended.
