I just got a sony 12x cd-rw drive and i'm wondering what program would work best with it or if the CD Complete Pro would work just fine. Are there any significant advantages of any program over the Sony one? Thanks.
Nero give you more "advanced" options. It includes instructions for backing up Playstation games. It was the first to get mp3 to cda burning on the fly. They are very fast about implementing new features into it. It has a very good interface and a good website. I would say it's the best "all around" software for burning. You can get it free, but you're supposed to pay for it. Nero
I prefer Nero, but it's not free (http://www.ahead.de). The software that came with your burner is probably good enough. If you want to try out nero though, just go to their site and download the demo.
Nero is a good burner. The interface is a bit funky, but it does a good job. If you don't really need advanced features and just want to stick with regular burning and imaging, I would just stick with what you have.
I use Nero and Clone CD to copy CDs.
for mp3 to cda conversions I use musicmatch since it decodes mp3 to wav and burns on the fly. It's really fast too.
I haven't mucked with it much, but Prassi can with my Ricoh and it at least works in Win2K (no extensive testing yet). Burned a few times at 12x just fine.
