I would vote for the Zalmans - active PFC, >85% efficiency, and definitely one of the most quiet... and even the 300W is sufficient for an Athlon 64 system...

The quietest PSU is the 400W zalman in your price range. It's got the massive HS just like the high dollar SilenX PSUs at half the price.

The 120mm fortons suck. Both I've had, had a distinctive whine underloads which most people probably won't notice with other components making so much noise in thier system.

Both the SilenX and Zalman use the FSP400 with a quieter fan as far as I know and as far as I remember from SPCR.

Are these PSU fans temp. controlled? Because I noticed when I put my system into standby when I sleep, it gets a little quieter.

get an antec true 430 sneaky. you wont regret it

Seconded. Mine is so quiet I can't tell it's on. Solid voltages, no noise, and a 3 year warranty. Highly recommended. :thumbsup:
