best remote access software?

i want to work from home without needing to go back to my office if i forget something. i need something thats easy to install (not the most tech-savvy person here) and easy to use.

a friend recommended logmein, but i have never heard of it. has anyone here had more experience with this program?

If you're running both XP Pro at work and home, then Remote Desktop works well. UltraVNC is great as well, and has a file transfer feature (whereas RDC does not).

XP's remote desktop is what i usually use.

I have heard good things about GoToMyPC.com, but remote desktop works just fine. The hard part is getting a VPN setup at work, or a NAT address created so you can access your work PC from the Internet.

Agreed. They might already have a method to securely access your computer and/or network.

thanks everyone for your suggestions...i'll see what my IT dept says. it was a coworker friend who recommended Logmein, so hopefully they are okay with me using that...you guys haven't heard anything bad about them, right?
